Art you can wear - at fun fashion show
A CATWALK show with a difference raised money for the Children’s Centre. The Manx Wearable Art Show was held at the Strand Shopping Centre, Douglas, and saw contributors show off their flair.
The designs, by Isle of Man College students and other individuals or groups with an interest in fashion, were made from a dazzling array of unusual materials.
They included glass, paper, wood, metal, rubber, plastic and all kinds of recycled goods.
Wearable Art started in New Zealand in 1987 and the show began in the Isle of Man in 2005. Since then it has gone from strength to strength.
The money raised at this year’s event is still being counted and will be presented to the Children’s Centre in the near future.
