Irvine, California, March 7, 2011—Giving back to the community is something that is very important to all of us at bamboopink. With the recent tragedies occurring in Japan and the Pacific, as a new company, we feel we have a unique opportunity to help those that are in need.

TOKYO (AP) - Officials with the company that operates Japan's tsunami-stricken nuclear plant say radioactive contamination in groundwater underneath a reactor has been measured at 10,000 times the government health standard.

By allocating our first contribution to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, bamboopink can be sure their funds will be put to use quickly and effectively, benefiting those most in need. We are overwhelmed by the generosity of the fashion consultants community, and continue to evaluate the best applications for donations as the situation evolves.

The bamboopink Emergency Committee will meet again soon to reevaluate the situation on the ground in Japan, and plans to allocate additional funds in early May.
